The Eagels won by the shortest of margins!

Congrats to the Eagles and all their fans, Including my mate Bruce, For thesoaring.com. It was a fantastic game and it just made me want the Hawks to get there soon!

 Look for a show in the next few days and I am going to try to get Bruce on to talk about the game.

AFL Grand final tickets sold out

 From all reports the AFL Grand Final is sold out and even going to popular auction site, eBay isn’t necessarily the answer. But it also seems flights from Perth are a problem as well:

With all but some standing and restricted-view grand final tickets sold out already, Eagles and Swans fans who missed out posted their pleas for a pass to the big game on eBay. Just under 50 requests were posted for AFL grand final tickets on the internet bidding site. One seller’s ticket had already reached $630 with four days of bidding to go. Also on eBay two return plane tickets from Perth to Melbourne were being offered for the ridiculous sum of $3500. Last night one of the few seats left from Perth to Melbourne was $800 one way on Qantas.

So if you want a ticket and price isn’t the biggest concern, have a look at the travel sites, sites offering packages and even ring around the other AFL clubs to see if they have any tickets as part of breakfasts and lunches and things.

Good Luck to the Eagles and the Swans and lets hope is a great game. Podcast early next week to look at the game and any news coming from it, and then it is onto the trading silly season, which will bring back a lot of interest for us that have had our sides out for almost a month now!

Am I the only one that wants to see a Dockers/Eagle Grand Final?

I mean once the Hawks are out (didn’t make the final and now there are no non-Collingwood Melbourne teams! Who to follow in the finals?

Sydney: I am sure a lot of Victorians will have a soft spot for the Swans/Bloods seeing they have there roots with South Melbourne. They are premiership favorites and showed last year that they have the goods to win

 

Fremantle: I think those not barracking for the Swans would love to see this underdog get up and make the Grand Final with a chance to get off their duck and win their first Flag after 12 years in the competition. There the team I hope that wins but they are pushing it up hill and only the fact their game with the Swans is on at Telstra Stadium and not the SCG means that they are any chance.

Adelaide: Early it looked like how far the Crows but late season form slump and numerous injuries and of course the illness that struck down Mark Ricciuto have brought them back to the pack and in fact they will probably go into the games as underdogs against the Eagles. Even one of their favorite sons, Chris McDermott thinks they will lose.

Eagles: After an extremely impressive performance, they are the second favorites and the thought of them playing Sydney again has the media in a frenzy. They have a big job to get past the Crows but any side that has Cousins, Judd, Embly and Kerr have to be a team to watch.

 

Who do I think will make the grand final: Eagles and the Swans. But what about the comment in the title? I hope, like anything that the Eagles play the Dockers. A Western Derby Grand Final would be an absolutely firerery affair! Remember the 2000 (I believe it was 2000) brawl? This would be a good old fashion rivalry like the Hawks and Bombers or Carlton and Collingwood. I know that its a great thing that footy has cleaned up its act but the thought of good old fashion biffo is a thought to good to be thought about!

Brodie Holland get 5 weeks - Video

What happens if you have a terrible record, you have (virtually) a match suspended sentence and you do this:

You get 5 weeks suspension. Well that’s assuming you take plead guilty to an early plea.

Here is some info on the charge:

The incident was assessed as intentional conduct (three points), high impact (three points), in play (no points) and high contact (two points). This is a total of eight activation points, which relates to a Level Five offence, drawing 425 demerit points and a four-match sanction.

Holland has a total of five matches suspended within the last three years, which increases his penalty by 40 per cent to 595 points. He also has 96.88 residual points from within the last 12 months, increasing his penalty to 691.88 points and a six-match sanction.

He decided to not take the early please and is going to the tribunal. Well I say good luck and you will need it. There is no way he should get off this and to the guys like Martin Pike (who I heard on SEN last night) talking about if you want to take hits like this out of footy, then go play/watch netball, I say: I you want to see hits like this, go watch the Ultimate Fighting Championship, it has no place in Footy these days!

I can see this ending in Appeal and us hearing from the Collingwood Fans and Eddie!

What a great game on Saturday night and the Swan have firmed into Flag favoritism. But are they in trouble of losing Mick O for rest of the Finals? Have a look at the video below that was put up on You Tube and shows an incident from the first quarter that seems to show Michael eye gouging an Eagles player.
