Truely Tragic Injury – Graham Polak in induced coma

Richmond player, Graham Polak, took two hard hits yesterday. One he already came back from that wasn’t important and one that was the biggest bump of his career that may totally change his life!

During his sides loss to Carlton, Polak took a knee to the side/chest that took him off the ground for a little while but came back on the ground to run out the game. Lets hope the same is true with his recovery from the second bump.

Last night at around 11pm, Graham was crossing Dandenong Road in Melbourne when he was hit by a tram. Early reports where:”

Polak remains in a critical but stable condition, a hospital spokeswoman confirmed. Polak was crossing Dandenong Rd near the intersection of Orrong Rd about 11.30pm last night when the accident happened.

Reports this morning indicated that he has quite a serious injury that puts the footy injuries into perspective:

Richmond defender Graham Polak has bruising on his brain and went into an induced coma at the Alfred Hospital after being hit by a tram.

We wish all the best to Graham and his family and he returns to a full and normal life. Some may say returns to footy, which would be great, but I think it is more important that he returns to life, footy is an after thought!
